History
The history of the University College Dublin is longer than what one would expect at first sight, as it’s origins date back to the Catholic University of Ireland, founded in 1854, the Catholic University was a response to the catholic emancipation that was currently ongoing across the country, their goal was to provide an institution that would be taught and attended by catholic, in part as a counterpart to the Trinity College, this came together with a feeder school meant to give a direct link to the institution, all in all the process proved complicated, while staffed it lacked a proper royal charter, and constant financial difficulties came to be associated with the institution.
The Universities Act of 1908 changed things for the better, as the institution would reform, and rename into the University College Dublin to take advantage of the new benefits the act brought, as a result, proper degrees were awarded and the institution was finally able to get past it’s economical issues, leading it to grow til the present day, were it became one of Ireland’s premier universities, and the top candidate for the number one best Irish university in the near future.

Admission requirements
In order to be enrolled into the University college of Dublin the student must fit the following criteria, having a minimum of two subjects at Grade H5 and at least Grade O6/H7 in the other subjects, be proficient in both English and Irish, and meet the minimum required points of their desired course.

All students at the University College Dublin have to pay a Student Contribution Charge amounting to €3,000 and a Student Centre Levy amounting to €254, from there on EU students cant expect to pay €4,000 on Tuition Fees per year at the institution, while non EU students can expect to pay on average €9,000, though some programs do go as low as €2,000 depending on the course.
