History
Originally established on 1897, the Victoria University of Wellington was created in honor of the 60th anniversary of Queen Victoria’s coronation, hence it’s name. Settled in Kelburn the institution started operation with the support of the University of New Zealand, and it wouldn’t be until 1961 that with it’s dissolution Victoria University would start conferring it’s own degrees, and being the expansion process that lead it to the current century.
In the present day the Victoria University of Wellington counts with extra campuses, and 2 research institutes in the areas of ecology and sea life, leading it to become one of New Zealand’s premier research institutions and one of the best ranked across the years.

A student high-school results are the main requirement for admission to the Victoria University of Wellington, regardless of where said studies took place, for New Zealand locals the Guaranteed Entry Score is an average of 150 points, while those under the International Baccalaureate need a 28 for admission.
Student Life
