History
Founded in 1956, Nanyang University operated for a long time as the only private university in Singapore which taught in Chinese, it’s later merger in 1981 with the University of Singapore resulted in it’s rebranding as the Nanyang Technological Institute.
Then another merger came in 1991, this time obtaining the name of Nanyang technological University, as a result of these multiple mergers, Nanyang became the second largest university in the country, and was internationally recognized as one of the best young universities globally.

Admission requirements
Application is handled online, and comes with an application fee regardless of acceptance status, Nanyang Technological University requirements are rather straightforward, as proof of fluency in English or their Mother Tongue for Singapore students as well as High-School level education are the main aspects taken into consideration, however any applicant may be required to perform in an Entrance Examination as the university sees fit.
Student Life
Nanyang counts with USPecial Workshops, a platform that allows students to get closer to arts and disciplines different from their chosen course through skill-based workshops, as such any student in Nayang will find itself with a wider range of skills and a wider social circle than their single course enrollment would initially suggest.
Part-time work
Nanyan Technological University doesn’t favor part-time work on it’s student body, while nationals and residents don’t really have any restrictions, the university doesn’t have a job center or any sort of aid to find part-time work, when it comes to international students Nanyang Technological University recommends against part-time work as a way to sustain studies, while it is possible to work with a letter of endorsement the process has to be renewed, and isn’t even available for exchange students.

Summary
As one of the best universities in the country, and one of the best young universities in the world, there’s no reason to not consider Nanyang Technological University when choosing to study in Singapore, Engineering is clearly it’s forte, but it’s other programs aren’t any less developed, and many of them offer the chance to earn a double degree which only helps to make it a better prospect.
