History

Simon Fraser University was established in the year 1965 the direct result of a recommendation issues in 1962 by John B Macdonald who brought into attention the need to found a university in the area of British Columbia, named after Simon Fraser, famed North West Company explorer, and with construction starting in 1964 the institution was able to start classes in 1965 with 2,500 students.

Historically the institution has been home to activism, both political and social, and it was one of the first institutions to accept female staff in the region as well. It is famously the first Canadian university to be part of the NCAA, and it’s considered to have some of the highest success rates for students in the country.

Admission requirements

In general courses at Simon Fraser University require High-School results around the 70% mark, with a major focus on English classes taken, specific faculties have unique requirements when it comes to the required classes taken during high school, but the above is the main shared requirement.

Student Life

The normal Tuition Fee per unit at Simon Fraser University amounts to $192.03 per unit for local students, while this can slightly rise on some circumstances, most of the time the increase won’t be more than $10.

For international students the fee per unit is $826.62, with some cases seeing a rise of up to $100.
