History
Originally founded in 1908, the University of Alberta opened its doors to students the very same year, not without some heated arguments before it’s establishment on where the institution should be located to properly represent the region, past those initial hiccups the main focus of Alberta on it’s early years was to establish a good teaching base, and as such the recruitment of teaching staff became a priority of the institution in the coming years.

Admission requirements
The main aspects considered for admission at the University of Alberta are a student’s grades, their English proficiency and the subjects they have completed.
Unlike most institutions Alberta accepts and evaluates grades and diplomas from most regions, as long as a degree is valid internationally it will be evaluated directly by the institution without a need to convert it to an equivalent. English proficiency as well can be proven through a test or a student’s prior education. This leaves only the last requirement, completed courses, students must be able to prove they completed 5 academic courses, and the specifics vary from course to course, so reading into detail is necessary.
Student Life
The combination of an easy access to the city of Alberta and the variety of facilities available on camps lends itself to an environment where no matter where a student’s interest lie, any possible artistic, athletic or cultural passion can be met on location.
Part-time work
Alberta’s Student Calling program offers student’s work on fundraising for the university, a work that only requires 2 shifts a week and pays $12,20 per hour, making it one of the most comfortable and practical ways to earn money on the institution.
Fees
For Canadian students the basic yearly tuition fee amounts to $5,300, but due to additional fees amounting to $1,650, and the need for books and other supplies this amount will in practice raise, as accommodation and food provided by the institution amount to $8,200, a student who requires all of these services is expected by the institution to require $16,900 per year.

The University of Alberta is currently ranked as the 65th best college level institution in the world, making it the overall fourth best university in it’s home country of Canada.

There’s not much left to say for Alberta, it’s fees aren’t too expensive compared to other institutions, and the quality of it’s facilities and courses is undeniable, anybody who can afford it will find themselves facing a quality education and will find a course tailor made for them, it is one of the best universities in Canada, and that shows in all areas of it’s education.
