History
Originally founded in 1972, the University of Limerick didn’t in fact even begin as an university, in these first years, it was but a technical college, however the failed attempts of Limerick to be granted a Queen’s College across the years ultimately resulted in the region to remain devoid of a proper university, and during the 1950s a stronger movement was born from this fact.

Admission requirements
Applications to the University of Limerick are mainly handled through CAO (Central Applications Office) an organization tasked with overseeing the undergraduate applications of students for a large amount of Irish universities.
At the University of Limerick, the general requirement is a student’s high-school results, the instutiton aks for six subjects, expecting two subjects at h5 and at least four at O6.
Student Life
The University of Limerick does it’s best effort to be one of the most welcoming communities in the first year of it’s students, with both an advisor system and a first year support coordinator available to freshmen every year, as well as a large group of student volunteers trying to make the integration of their new classmates into the community as smooth as possible
Part-time work
While the University of Limerick counts with it’s own dedicated student work portal, it hasn’t been updated in a while, this doesn’t mean the university stopped supporting students in that endeavor per se, and a direct visit to their offices will most likely see the service intact, however it might bt in the best interest of students who really need the employment to seek other options outside of the university.
Fees
EU Students can expect to pay €6,000 on average per year at the University of Limerick, for non EU students the average price raises to €12,000 per year. Both of these prices include the course’s tuition fee and the university’s student levy.

The University of Limerick is currently ranked as the 611th best college level institution in the world, making it the overall sixth best university in it’s home country of Ireland.
