History
The history of the University of Victoria starts all the way back in 1903, when Victoria College was opened under the support of McGill University, as a way to offer courses in Arts and Sciences in the area of British Columbia.
The 20s would see the first major changes for the institution, as it started to separate from it’s affiliated institutions, and properly developed a reputation for the high quality of it’s courses, ultimately in the 50s the institution finally became an university, and due to it’s accelerated growth ultimately reestablished itself as the University of Victoria.
In the present days the University of Victoria is famous for it’s research and institutes on weather, seafloor and other climate and nature topics, with a dedicated climate and ocean research lab amongst it’s facilities.

Through it’s 12 faculties the University of Victoria offers well over 50 courses aimed at undergraduate students, some of which can even be pursued in an interdisciplinary focus.

Tuition Fees at the University of Victoria are based on units taken by a student, domestic students can expect to pay $450 per unit on average, while international students should expect an amount closer to $1,700 per unit.

The University of Victoria is currently ranked as the 198th best college level institution in the world, making it the overall 13th best university in it’s home country of Canada.
