History
Founded in 1878 as the Western University of London Ontario, it was the result of Bishop Isaac Hellmuth’s desire to see an university with a focus on the Arts, Divinity and Medicine.

Admission requirements
Applications to the University of Western Ontario are handled through their online application centre, admissions for citizens and residents is in large part based by the applicant’s performance in their last years of high school combined with their audition and portfolio, for international students the University of Western Ontario requires them to have completed a year or be currently enrolled at a recognized university, to submit a transcript of that year of university, and to perform on an English language test if that isn’t their first language.
Student Life
When it comes to the University of Western Ontario there’s no shortage of facilities and events available to their students, with a dedicated recreation centre, multiple sports available for their students, 2 art galleries, and even a theatre, students will find themselves with a varied set of activities for their entertainment and a welcoming and inclusive staff dedicated to their wellbeing.
Part-time work
On top of counting with dedicated Career Services always available to their students, the University of Western Ontario has it’s own dedicated Work Study program, which offers students an opportunity to work part-time on campus.
Fees
For Canadian citizens and permanent residents the tuition fee for first-entry will be on average around 7,500 CND, while international students will find a fee closer to 35,000 CND.

The University of Western Ontario currently occupies the 172nd place in the world ranking of universities, making it the 10th best university in Canada.
