History
Originally established in 1909, the birth of the Indian Institute of Science came from a chance meeting, Swami Vivekananda and Jamsetji Tata crossed paths on a certain travel, and from that single encounter, Tata decided to share his plans year later on the foundation of a new research institute in the country.
