Monterrey Institute of Technology

History

First established in 1943, the Monterrey Institute of Technology and Higher Education or just colloquially in it’s language as Tecnologico de Monterey is a private university in Monterey with over 36 campuses in the country, which makes it one of the largest universities in all of Latin America.

Originally founded by local businessmen, it’s main goal was to provide the country with the skilled personnel the up and coming corporations of Montery would require in the near future, the country’s near presence to the United States of America made internationalization one it’s priorities from day one, and it was soon accredited by the United States itself, which granted it additional funds and an influx of foreign students which lead to it’s growth process in the late 60s, and to it’s current form in the present day.

Programs Offered

Tecnologico de Monterey doesn’t count with the usual faculty centered academic approach most colleges share, instead due to it’s immense selection of campuses the university’s courses are listed under their respective campus, what this ultimately means is that while the offering at the institution is large, a student’s desired course might only be available at a different regional campus from their location, which makes preparation and research even more important at the institution.
