History
Born through a competition for the creation of new universities in North Rhine-Westphalia, the Rhine-Wall University of applied sciences was ultimately opened in 2009, when the committee decided to drop the idea of establishing multiple universities in the region and chose to instead merge the proposed institutions into a single college, which allowed the Rhine-Wall University of Applied Sciences to be a more thorough institution for higher education.

Admission requirements
Application to Rhine-Wall is handled through it’s official website, with an admission deadline of July 15 for the winter semester and January 15 for the summer semester.
For those who did not earn their HZB in Germany, an application must be done through uni-assist so as to establish the equivalency of their international HZB, additionally foreign student must prove that they are fluent in the language of the program, a process that requires an internationally recognized language certificate.
Student Life
Rhine-Waal counts with two brand-new campuses, which include state-of-the-art equipment and facilities, as well as a highly motivated staff. Students are provided with continuous support both in and out of the classroom through the university’s Student Service Centre and International Centre, furthermore new students have a dedicated Welcome Centre geared to make the integration towards their new life even easier.
Part-time work

- Contribution to your faculty’s Student Representative Body: €10.00
- NRW semester ticket: €54.60
- VGN semester ticket: €149.28
- Support of University Sports: €1.00
