Founded on 1861 as the Territorial University of Washington, the university found itself struggling a lot on it’s initial years, to the point of closing three times, and it took until 1876 for it to be able to award it’s first degree. Thankfully its relocation and the growth it experience in the 20th century allowed it to continue it’s growth, now under the name of the University of Washington.

In the present day it operates as the flagship institution of Washington, and is known for it’s achievement in research as well as it’s highly competitive programs.

Admission requirements

Application into the University of Washington is handled through Coalition for College. After filling all the profile information and adding the University of Washington to the list, residents will be asked for a fee waiver, while international ones will need to present an English Proficiency Test, afterwards, the remaining process amounts to filling in the coursework done in high school and answering the University of Washington specific questions, with that done the student’s profile is ready for application.
