History
Dublin City University was first established on 1975, meant to be the first step in a planned merging process of various universities in the region like Albert College, however this didn’t ultimately work out as intended, and that idea developed separately while it was decided Dublin City University would operate independently.
While originally the university mainly focused on science and technology, the passing of time lef to the development of it’s other faculties, and with time it has also made a name for itself on other areas such as arts, and particularly for it’s INTRA program, which allows it’s students to work alongside their career to further develop their skills and further career.

Dublin City University currently counts with 4 faculties from which it offers over 30 courses for undergraduate students, alongside these, Dublin City also offers some programs online through it’s DCU Connected program, granting students more options on how to pursue their studies.

Admission requirements
Admission to Dublin City University is mainly based on a student’s high-school results, if a course requires an additional examination or has specific cut-off points those will be listed in their page, and additionally international students will be asked to proved proof of their English Language Proficiency.
Applications can be submitted to the Central Applications Office (CAO), an organization which handles and processes applications for most undergraduate courses in Ireland’s institutions, and should be done before the 1st of February of the given year.
Student Life
With a dedicated Office of Student life to organize student clubs and societies, there’s no denying that DCU is incredibly committed to the wellbeing of it’s student body, all facilities are open to all students regardless of what their main campus is, any student can choose to partake in their selection of over 120 clubs, and there are guided tours for those students still on the fence on what kind of activities to join, in general, DCU manages to make student life a personal experience for all of those joining.
Part-time work
As all undergraduate students are meant to take part in Dublin’s City University INTRA programs, which connects students with internships as part of their education process, trying to add another work to that can prove difficult, however INTRA does offer paid internships, and ones in relevant fields to the chosen area of study, so while there might not be as much flexibility, INTRA does help students to support themselves.
Fees
When it comes to Dublin City University, there’s two main ways to handle fees, for courses taken in person, the Tuition Fee of an average undergraduate program is around €6,000 for EU Students, and €12,000 for Non EU Students.
For online courses fees are based on modules instead, each module costs €900 for EU Students, and €1,288 for Non EU Students, with a given course requiring between 12 to 14 modules to graduate.
